Needless to say, Flickr is the largest and best photo sharing community in the world. On Flickr, you can easily enjoy millions of stunning images contributed by all the people around the globe.

Flickr has a huge stock of “China” photos. Flickr has provided a very smart rating system for image quality and popularity; and its huge community also help “favor” and “group” out the best images.

There are probably thousands of “China” related Flickr groups. Here, I selected 10 of them as my favorite “China” groups. With the help of diligent members of these groups, we will see the “stunning” side of China.

1. China Flickr | Flickriver

This is the ultimate “China” group with 3,000+ members and 71,000+ items. The only other comparable way for such a broad selection is to view by tag “China” (4,062,000+ items).

2. Chinese Culture Flickr | Flickriver

This group’s focus is on Chinese culture. Although it has only 1212 items, it covered a wide range aspects of Chinese culture, from art to relics, from religions to daily life.

3. Best of China Landscape Flickr | Flickriver

This group led us through the beauty of China’s vast territory ranging from subtropical forests, deserts, mountains, caves, lakes, rivers, coasts, glaciers, YOU name it.

4. Chinese Food Flickr | Flickriver

“General Tso’s Chicken” ? What else in your mind about Chinese food ? Well, “Americanized”, I bet. Forget about them, try some REAL “authentic” Chinese food in this Flickr group. Remember, don’t drool on your keyboard …

5. Chinese Arts & Antiques Flickr | Flickriver

“Traditional Chinese arts & antiques including: pottery, stone carving, snuff bottles, silver art, calligraphy, Chinese painting, poetry, wood carving, embroidery, masks, kites, paper cutting, vases, bone carving, sculpture and puppetry etc.”

6. Chinese Crafts and Toys Flickr | Flickriver

Honestly, I have a photo included in this group. This is a place for any inspiring *TRADITIONAL* Chinese crafts and toys and any crafts/toys inspired from them. I guess you will probably want to buy some of those after viewing the images, from Etsy or Ebay?

7. Birds of China Flickr | Flickriver

China has 1186 different species of birds, which is the richest country in the world. If you enjoyed the BBC Wild China series, you should check this Birds of China group to see hello to these lovely creatures.

8. Capital Museum of Beijing Flickr | Flickriver

I am not sure if this group only pool photos taken in the B&M Capital Museum of Beijing . Probably not. I think it’s a great collection of culture heritages and relics all around China, or maybe as well as ones that are unfortunately overseas.

9. Chinese Opera Flickr | Flickriver

As introduced in my previous post, Chinese Opera is a very complicated form of performance art because of its diversity and rich history. In this group, you will get a sense about how the stages look like in China.

10. China Town Flickr | Flickriver

In most major world cities like London, San Francisco, Toronto, etc., you will probably find an area near downtown called “China Town”. There you can have a pretty complete taste of Chinese culture, or most importantly food. In this Flickr group, they collected photos of different China Towns around the world. Can you find some common characteristics?
