Shanghai is the largest city in China and the largest city proper in the world, with a population of over 20 million people in its metropolitan area.

The city is a tourist destination renowned for its historical landmarks such as the Bund and City God Temple, its modern and ever-expanding Pudong skyline including the Oriental Pearl Tower. Today, Shanghai is the largest center of commerce and finance in mainland China, and has been described as the “showpiece” of the world’s fastest-growing major economy. — wikipedia

I was searching for images for an upcoming post about attractions in Shanghai when I found these stunning images by a German photographer – Wolfgang Staudt – on Flickr. I’d like to share with you here:

I think he did an excellent job on covering the major attractions in the City of Shanghai. The compositions and viewpoints of his images were just perfect (He must have a good guide!) The vibrating colors are so vivid and just like a Kaleidoscopic view of this modern city. Although I am not a photographer, I can still tell these images are simply great.

Honestly, grown up in China, I have never been to Shanghai before. After viewing these images by Wolfgang, I think it will be my next destination on my travel plan.
