The coast is defined as where the land meets the sea. — wikipedia

According to the geomorphological characteristics of the coast, the coast of China can be divided into the following categories: 1. sand & gravel coast 2. bedrock coast 3. mangrove coast 4. mud coast 5. coral reefs coast.

From a tourist’s point of view, the first type is best for beach activities, the 2nd and the 3rd has scenic values, the 4th and 5th is not that popular, although coral reefs might be good sites for underwater activities.

Here are the rest four of top 8 coasts in China. You can view all these part II (another 4 of 8 ) of top coasts in Google Earth here (KMZ file).

5. Changli Golden Beach 昌黎黄金海岸 – Kiss between desert and sea
Google Earth | Wiki | location: Changli, Hebei

Located 15km south of the famous Bei-Dai-He resort, Changli beach was not discovered for tourism development until early 1980s, when a geographer from Chinese Academy of Science found this 52.1km long beach and called it China’s “Golden Beach”, comparing it to the Queensland one.

It is unique because of its dunes and sand skiing. Due to the forces of tide, wind, sea current and rivers, there is a 4km wide, 30km long sand belt. The dunes are about 20-40 meters high in average, which is very good for sand skiing. You can ski towards either the valley or the sea. Importantly, the dunes are fairly stable. The sands fell off from the top due to skiing in the summer will be carried back to the top by wind in the winter. So just enjoy yourself~

Located in the most urbanized Pearl River Delta metropolitan region, Dapeng Peninsula of Shenzhen is still maintained by the government as a virgin territory for tourism development, an untouched coastline ecosystem. Although the government aims to develop it into ecotourism heaven, actual construction is still on hold for a perfect plan.

Dapeng Peninsula has 133km long well-preserved coastline and a dozen of fine beaches. Its granite hills and valleys also provide great views to South China Sea and Hong Kong cities. At the south point of this Peninsula, there are two remote villages, where you can enjoy a original rural life style.

    Hong Kong harbor is a wonderful view. I loved it! So many islands to visit too… I think I swam in most of them.

    I didn’t like the coast by Beijing though.

    @Zhu
    I heard the Bohai Sea (near Beijing) is too polluted and dirty. 🙁
